Hello Martin and Ayelet
Whereas some artists draw on archival references to navigate our increasingly multidimensional world, I work from the body out. So Martin., while creating this show I continue to expand my knowledge from the inside out, using for this occasion: my private thoughts about the universe, time, the concept of value, and grasping memories. The materials which I will use would be imported, re-invented, taken away, or invisible,. etc,.
Practically, we have to send one person to the equator, find a substance which dissolves mirrors, and paint with fire. And to look for a place which can turn things into gold, Oohh and also a silkscreen person which could print with lemon juice. I already mailed you a crappy picture by phone so you know which kind of juice I mean. Anyway we meet soon to discuss all of this. And please,... paint the floor again before my show, because its too dirty now.
You know what I mean.

Martin van Zomeren is pleased to present ‘IT’S NO CRIME TO TICKLE TIME’, Navid Nuur’s second solo show at the gallery. Navid Nuur (b. 1976, Teheran) lives and works in The Hague. Previous solo exhibitions include ‘THE VALUE OF VOID’ in De Hallen Museum, Haarlem, Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel and S.M.A.K, Ghent. Recent Group shows include ‘Taking Place’, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, ‘Invisible Shadows - Images of Uncertainty’, MARTa Herford Museum, Herford, ‘History of Art’, David Roberts Art Foundation, London and ‘Performative Attitudes’, Kunsthaus Glarus, Switzerland (all 2010).
Coinciding with the exhibition, the artist solo show ‘POST PARALLELISM’ is on view in Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, St. Gallen. Nuur’s work is included at the upcoming 54th Venice Biennale’s main exhibition ‘ILLUMInations’, directed by Bice Curiger.
